Lottery Ticket Thief Leaves A Ticket Trail To His Capture
A thief in Nashville, TN broke into a gas station on the morning of Monday 7th January 2019 and tried to make off with a bunch of lottery tickets. When police arrived at the Mapco gas station they found broken glass and a trail of lottery tickets. As any good police officer would do, they followed the trail of lottery tickets across the street where they found the suspect, gave chase and eventually arrested him.
Stealing lottery tickets is not a new phenomenon, it actually happens quite often. This has to be the first time I have heard of though, where the thief has left a trail of tickets for the police to find them. It’s almost like a real life Hansel and Gretel played out with lottery tickets.
Maybe the thief couldn’t wait to scratch off those tickets and find that jackpot winner. We all know how hard it can be to wait when you have a fresh stash of scratch off’s itching to be scratched. Maybe the thief knew they would have to go back for more later and decided to leave a trail so that they could find their way back to the gas station. Either way it was a bad idea.
While the main moral of this story is don’t steal, the secondary moral is clearly don’t scratch off you tickets until you are in a safe place to do so.
