Third Largest MegaMillions Jackpot in Lottery History at $548 Million

There were no jackpot winners in the MegaMillions lottery drawing again. The jackpot has now increased to an estimated $548 million for the draw on Friday 12th October 2018. This makes it the 3rd largest MegaMillions jackpot in the lotteries history. The winning numbers for Tuesday 9th October 2018’s MegaMillions lottery draw were 20, 22, 39, 54, 60 with the megaball 18.

This marks the 3rd time this year the jackpot has passed the $500 million mark. The jackpot for March 30th, 2018 was $533 million and the jackpot for July 24th, 2018 was $543 million. Large jackpots are becoming more frequent in recent years with multi-state lotteries. This is due in part to the increase in cost from $1 a ticket to $2 a ticket. Also an increase in the total number of possible combinations a single drawing can have.

As well as no jackpot winner, only 4 tickets matched the 5 regular balls in last nights draw. those lucky tickets will win the holders $1 million. 37 tickets matched 4 regular balls and the megaball, each ticket winning a prize of $10,000. In total there were 1,494,695 winning tickets for last nights drawing.
